[NMLUG] Really specific syndication

RSS is a great way to keep up w/ specific news items, changes to web
pages, etc, but I'm interested in only very specific things. For
example, I want to receive an email (or an IM/fax/page/text
message/phone call/etc) when any of the following things happen:
* Comedian Bob Newhart dies
* Prince Charles III ascends to the throne of the United Kingdom and
her empires
* The (as-yet-unmade) movie "Spell For Chameleon" is released on DVD
Is there any service that will notify me just when specific things
like this happen?
I realize I could just subscribe to Entertainment/British newsfeeds
and/or obituaries, but that would be overkill: I only want to be
notified when the 3 events above occur, not anything else.
I considered things like subscribing to related newsfeeds and grepping
and/or watching the relevant Wikipedia pages for changes (and, again,
grepping for words like "died", "DVD release", "King", etc), but this
seems kludgey.
I also realize no website/service could possibly keep a list of all
possible future events (things like DVD releases and famous people's
deaths are easily categorized, and things like Charles becoming King
are pretty important, but I could see where every possible future
event would be hard to list), so this is more of a general thought/question.
Any thoughts? Apologies if this doesn't belong here: as my questions
get more esoteric, I'm not quite sure where to post them.
P.S. Thanks to everyone who helped w/ the power supply issue-- I got
it replaced and things are working fine.
