[NMLUG] Kubuntu

Any Kubuntu or Ubuntu users out there? I'm trying to run Kubuntu from
the live CD but can't get networking to work. I manually configure the
nic with their network GUI for a static IP address on my LAN and I get
an error saying that 192.168.1.1 (my router) is an invalid default
gateway IP address. This is on an Intel D945GCcr mobo with integrated
10/100 nic. Any suggestions?
