Whether or not your battery statement is universally true, the other
side of the coin to try is to clear the CMOS (Configuration Memory
Operating System). There usually is a three-pin jumper to "clear the
bios" (return it to its default settings). Or you can remove the
button battery, then replace it for the same effect. I have revived
mobos that wouldn't P.O.S.T. several times this way.
