[NMLUG] Why so many Linux distros?

Nice to see people on this list discussing alternate fuels as well as Linux.
I have a home brew fuel setup that I often try to rationalize it as being
cleaner and greener than burning petroleum based fuels. I recently found
more food for thought at http://biodiesel.infopop.cc
I like this thinking, and you can tell me what you think. Maybe I'm off,
maybe not, but we do need to keep thinking.
The new term I am speaking of is called "Carbon Neutral"
Fuel which is brought to the surface of the planet adds carbon dioxide to
the atmosphere that otherwise would have remained out of the sky. Burning
biomass is a more natural phenomenon. Plants and trees already release
carbon dioxide. Forest fires, for instance release carbon dioxide from
plants. I am not saying this is a good thing.

I think Lee has a very good point. " Coal-burning power plants could be made
to be MUCH less polluting if
they would just switch to fluidized bed furnaces using limestone media.
The technology is appallingly simple and has been available since the
1920s.

Let's focus on burning carbon neutral biomass more efficiently.
Wood heaters that burn all the fuel, is going to be one of my experiments.
Also I am currently working on waste veggie oil furnaces.
Gasification of biomass also has a bright future.
Our local community college is starting a renewable energy department which
I am proud to say I will be part of. We have list member Matt Bowie to thank
for this great Web Page at the school.
