[NMLUG] 2nd nic
I am not sure why you need a proxy to get the Linux PC to hook up to Qwest DSL.
At one time we had a Free BSD PC running a DSLAM on one NIC and the
T1 running through its own NIC, or maybe our local network was on the
other NIC. Just need to set the address on each card to correspond to
the proper IP range. Point one NIC to the DSL gateway address. It has
been a while since we did this but I don't recall it being too
difficult. I know, that's easy for me to say, right? We did have a
proxy server setup but if I recall, it was to make Web pages reload
faster. A fellow Linux user was in my shop last week and said he uses
a proxy to spoof his location...??? No idea if this helps, I hope so
