Standard Old PC runs something like 100 watts (excluding the monitor).
100 Watts x 24 hrs/day x 365 days/years = 876 kWh per year
@ 9 cents /kWh = $79 per year in electricity.

Little router box runs something like 5 watts
5 Watts x 24 hrs/day x 365 days/years = 44 kWh per year
@ 9 cents/kWh = $3.94 per year

So buying the little router/firewall box will pay for itself in 15 months and help save the planet from global warming.
