[NMLUG] internet access

i hope this isn't off-topic... if it is.. well.. flame away. :)

wondering if anyone has one of them old-fashioned hardware (i.e.
linux-compatible) modems (PCMCIA or external) lying around that they're
not using anymore.
it may be a few weeks before i can get a stable internet connection, and
would like to continue working on some of my free software projects- it's
difficult to do development (at least, the sort i've been doing) using
windows and IE over dialup.  but linux + dialup would at least get me part
of the way there.
or is there anywhere in albuquerque where one can get internet access
using ethernet (i don't have or want wireless)...
