[NMLUG] Encrypted root filesystems

I never logged it, but I have been using a user-land
encrypted FOLDER system, EncFS.  It uses fusermount to allow
users to mount encrypted directories onto the 
filesystem heirarchy.

Only drawback...  these folders are only protected
by standard permissions when mounted... root can see them.

Its good for encrypting personal areas on Laptops
or USB drives.  (Protection from data theft by
theft of HARDWARE, or private data backup)

I'm very happy with it.
