Much to my shame, that's not actually true. Good programming techniques
should be mostly-portable across languages, and really good programmers
are often able to shift to new languages with little loss of proficiency.
I, quite to the contrary, appear to be a much slower learner than I'd
like to admit. Thus, I'm sticking with Perl (for now), and hoping that
Perl 6 (the myth or legend?) may bring to me some of the things that are
"here and now" with PHP and Ruby.
If Perl 6 fails to either materialize or deliver, I'll probably move.
