[NMLUG] Mandrake morphs to Mandriva

Mandrakesoft Co., shortly after their merger with Connectiva, has
changed their product and company name to Mandriva.

That's not too big a jump to absorb, but I've been waiting for, um,
Mandriva 10.2, which was scheduled to appear after Easter. Now, they
have rescheduled a new release for Fall, 2005, and have released an
interim update, Mandriva 2005.

The HOT TIP I am leading up to is that budgetlinuxcds.com has the i586
version available on DVD for considerably less than I see at the Mandr
- um -iva store, under $10 including postage.  budgetlinuxcds is run
by Mark Walker, an Englishman who lives in France, which is also the
home of Mandr - um - iva.

I have no connection with budgetlinuxcds. He's just a good source for
bargain releases on DVD. I've ordered Mandriva 2005 i586 on DVD.
