Actually, less server maintainence would have helped. The delay in
mail list posts occured because of an attempt to decrease the number
of dictionary RCPT attempts on the mail server. The mail server gets
tens of thousands of these a bogus RCPT attempts each day, so I added
configuration to sendmail to throttle sending to multiple
recipients. Well, as you might have guessed by now, the mail list
software uses multiple recipients to talk to sendmail, thus the delay.

I've removed the throttle as an experiment and posts show be
redistributed faster now.
