As an aside, another Linux mailing list I'm on, linuxchix (www.linuxchix.org) 
has two simple guidelines that have made communication on their lists to be 
enjoyable to everyone.

Be helpful.
Be polite.

While I think the NMLUG list is generally pretty good about such things, and I 
don't think there's need for any official "these-are-the-rules", I think 
following such guidelines can help people feel welcome and help everyone's 
problems get solved.
