[NMLUG] Re: Linux Router/Firewall
Thanks for the tip Robert. I was able to get smoothwall up and running in
minutes. The hardest part of the install was trying to figure out how to get
my old bios to boot from the cd.
The only complaint I had was no descriptions in the portforward tables like
you would see in a linksys or dlink type router. The forums have a mod area
and I was able to quickly implement a mod to add descriptions.
I'm very impressed with the product so far. I'm going to have to read up a
little bit on how to interpret the logs. It looks like I'm being scanned but
I'm not entirely sure.
Thanks again for the great suggestion. Smoothwall is a newbie's delight.
