[NMLUG] GENERAL HARDWARE ORIENTED SYSTEM TRANSFER 8.0

Yes, that spells GHOST 8.0!

I've upgraded to the current Symantec Ghost 8.0 for DOS. 8.0 has no
problem cloning ext3 partitions without invoking any switches.

Why bother with it? Look at it this way: my Linux HDD is 120Gb. It
takes <dd> about 1hr30min to clone the drive, because it is copying
all the empty spaces. However there is presently only 4.33Gb of data
on the drive. GHOST copies the partition structure and data in 15min.
Time is money.

I haven't tried the tar pipe yet. Old habits die hard.

Binary Research International, the original authors of GHOST, still
exists (owned by Symantec). You can read about the new features at
http://www.binaryresearch.net/symantecghost.html
Something might catch your eye.
