I can vouch for that. I use the CLI Linux version together with an add-on 
for Exim to scan incoming mail. Works like a champ. I could even script 
the def. update to boot. One more note, the linux CLI version also uses 
the supplemental def. files that would be posted between the weekly 
updates.
