[NMLUG] Couple of samba questions.

Strange things are afoot. ;-)

My network consists of a Win98 notebook, a WinXP Pro Desktop, a
Debian/testing server, and a smoothwall box offering dhcp/firewall/etc.

I found that I didnt have the workgroups the same so i changed it on the
samba server to match the xp machine. restarted the samba services. Also
rebooted the XP machine just for kicks.

smb.conf has wins support=yes and the winxp box shows the proper ip address
for the wins server (ipconfig /all).

nmblookup debian shows that the debian machine is registered in wins.

nmblookup winxp shows name_query failed to find name winxp.

Im confused.....sigh....
