Hmm, does OpenOffice Impress not do what you need?
(http://www.openoffice.org) You might have to change formats a bit . . .
There's also a lot of other presentation programs you can look at, such as
KPresenter, and I think there's a GNOME one too.
If you need something more specialized, you'll probably have to write it
yourself. Doesn't seem like it would be to hard, though -- just display some
text from files in a pretty format.
Also, it looks like a pretty simple program -- you might want to try just
running it under wine.
