[NMLUG] Presentation software for Church services

I have been unable to locate an open source or Linux package which is 
the analog of something like Presenter:

I'm not opposed to paying for software, but I am opposed to adding a 
TLOS (that legacy OS) system to my support burden.  ("I don't do windows.")

If anyone knows of any, please shoot me a link.

If non exists, can anyone tell me what the technical issues are that 
make such a project so much more difficult on Linux?
