I'm in the market for a new printer, for home use.
I hear that color-lasers have come into an affordable range.
(like around $300?  less?)
I don't need too much speed, 6-8 B&W pages/min would be great!
Is that lower end these days?  I wouldn't want to go much
slower than 4 pp/min.

Are there any color lasers out there that are fairly
LINUX friendly you can recommend?
I plan to put it on a Debian-Woody server, but share
via CUPS and/or SAMBA to both LINUX and Windows machines.
