[NMLUG] FC1 to FC3 now no WiFi

I upgraded from Fedora Core 1 where my 802.11b Actiontec WiFi card was
working fine, to Fedora Core 3. It worked for a while but after I
updated via yum and rebooted it ceased working. Now it doesn't work at
all.
When I '/etc/init.d/pcmcia restart'
I get the message:
Shutting down PCMCIA services: ERROR: Module ds is in use by orinoco_cs
ERROR: Module pcmcia_core is in use by orinoco_cs,yenta_socket,ds
done.
Starting PCMCIA services: cardmgr [6004]: open_sock(socket 2) failed:
Bad file descriptor
cardmgr[6004]: watching 2 sockets
done.
I've tried loading various modules instead of the orinoco_cs which
worked fine in FC1 but nothing seems to work. I had to put the card name
and the manfid in the /etc/pcmcia/config file to make it recognized
which worked in FC1.
It seems that this problem is being discussed on Bugzilla but no
workable solution has been suggested since the bug was discovered in
September. Any ideas?

Thanks.
