I would argue that the masses using alternate download channels is a form of
civil disobedience. This is not the first time that civil disobedience has
been labeled criminal. Consumers generally complain when they don't get what
they expected.

That was right then, now it's simply impractical to attempt to fight these
folks yourself. http://tinyurl.com/545mk (recent /. article) lets me know who
runs things the RIAA, MPAA have deep pockets.

Given that our representitive government represents those that can best pay
for representation this solution is invalid for me. I'm poor and offer no
lobby. The other issue is that I don't think most congress persons read much
of the legislation that they sign off on.
