Hi, Tim -

Sure, GTH.  You want NetBSD. OpenBSD, although it will run X, etc, is 
really more of a security-oriented server platform. NetBSD has much more 
app support and user-friendliness. See http://www.daemonnews.org for 
articles, tips, distros, etc.
