[NMLUG] sparcstation 5
I'm not sure if you're saying it's an ultra 5 or a sparcstation 5 but you
don't need a monitor to get it rolling. There should be a serial port on the
back. If the serial port is round us a mac modem cable with a null modem
adaptor attached. If it's the regular db9 you can use just a null. Generally
they will talk to a terminal program at 9600 8n1 no flow control.
Debian runs on these guys, I've in the past (I recently took it down) I had
debian operating my cvs on a SS10. You can have it do a netboot to install
the system (which is how I perfer).
If you end up plugging a monitor into it you'll need a decent monitor as it
displays 1152x864 (as I recall from mine) as the default resolution.
