No, I didn't pay anything extra. Citibank does it as a service for all it's
customers. I didn't actually get a physical card like it sounds like you're
"gift card" is. I just logged into the website and it generated a number for
me. I wouldn't actually be able to use the number at any brick and mortar
store since I didn't physically have a card, but for websites it's no problem.
