[NMLUG] VMware

Does anyone here have significant experience running Windows XP on VMware?
I am getting a new laptop (from Gary at LACLinux.com) and I am trying to figure
out how to configure it.
I can do dual boot like my home computer. But I find that to be very
undesirable. I hate having to shut down everything to boot Windows. I loose
access to email in Windows, and can't easily switch between Linux and Windows tasks.
It looks like a better solution may be to use VMware. But I am concerned that it
may be significantly slower running software (especially IntelliCAD) with
VMware. I am also wondering if there could be any other reasons why I would a
dual boot instead of running VMware (other than the cost of VMware which is not
only $189.)
