I hope I didn't miss you saying your SCSI card BIOS does not support
this (I can't imagine it doesn't, either), but I have seen SCSI card
BIOS setup options for specifying which device is the boot device.  Have
you looked in there (to put the channel with the internal device ahead
of the channel with the external connector)?
