[NMLUG] Was: This box runs windows ok but won't run linux

This is also strange: I disconnect from the internet then the gnome
terminal emulation, gnome configuration tool and the integrated help
system buttons don't work. Then I log on and all three windows pop up on
the screen and a bunch of packets go to/from thales.nmia.com. I'm an
NMIA customer. I think thales.nmia.com is their nameserver.
