Your talk was very interesting. Thank you.

I'm sorry I had to leave early. Since you had mentioned running QNX on a G4, I had some questions. One in particular is if QNX supports AppleTalk?

We have a network of 30 odd Macs and 8 PCs on Ethernet using AppleTalk. I have two Mac servers running OS 9/AppleShare IP and two Linux servers running at the office. One Linux server is an old Power Mac 7200/90 running Yellow Dog Linux, the other is a Pentium 200 running Mandrake 7.0. I have AppleTalk configured (which was very difficult) and running on both Linux servers and it works great.

I recently installed Mac OS X (BSD 4.4 kernel) public beta on a new G4. AppleTalk is preconfigured in OS X; however, I'm finding it doesn't work very well. It will only allow me to connect to servers in the network or to other Macs running OS 9 with the "Connect via TCP/IP" enabled under File Sharing (this is the same in Classic mode i.e. running OS 9 inside OS X). This seems very odd to me that I have full connectivity and file sharing capabilities with all computers in the network on the Linux machines, but not with the new Mac OS X. Of course, Apple's lame response to the many serious problems I have encountered with OS X is that "..it's a public beta!"

I was curious to know if QNX does support AppleTalk whether it ended up with the same limitations that OS X currently has or if it works like it should?
