Lance - Welcome.
I know you asked for sites and not books, but I have two books I
recommend - they helped me learn. Having a book on the desk to flip
through when I run into a problem is invaluable for me.
They're both from O'Reilly, a company that publishes great computer
books (and that is moving toward free licensing of some of its titles,
I might add).
Learning Red Hat Linux, by Bill McCarty, has a lot of good
introductory material.

Running Linux, by Matt Welsh et. al. is a much more detailed,
technically complete guide to the basics.

Both of these titles came out in 1999, so they are reasonably
up-to-date on the basics, though with the speed free software moves,
no book is ever going to be up-to-date on the bleeding edge stuff.
It sounds as though you may be already past the McCarty book, but take
a look at O'Reilly's web site - they include sample chapters and
detailed tables of contents to give you an idea of which might be
better.
Again, welcome.
