[NMLUG] PPP no modem on W98?

  Did you ever get an answer to this?
  I run a RAS server with Linux.  I use PPP and my Windows clients connect 
just fine.  I'm pretty sure that PPP was designed with Windows in mind.  I 
haven't tried a direct cable connect, but if you look on the Windows CD, 
there might be a copy of the resource kit.  It goes through a lot of 
semi-technical information about Windows.

    Is it possible to run PPP from Windows
to a UN*X box, without a modem?  (straight serial line)
If so...  where can I find out about configuring
Windows Networking for such a connection?

   Will PPP handle MS networking?
If not, I could just as easily use SLIP or PLIP...
so.... how would I find out about setting those up in
Windoze?
